SID Update

SPEED INDICATOR DEVICES (SID)
Having trialled these devices around the parish, Council reviewed the statistics collected. These confirm that drivers do indeed slow down when they see the unit.
The parish council has now purchased three devices. Locations have been identified, some are currently active and plans are in place to introduce some additional posts around the parish so that additional SID presence will act as a deterrent for drivers to ‘think’ before ‘speeding’.
As mentioned in the last newsletter, Council intends to submit our data regularly to the Community Speed Watch co-ordinator; we understand that this will help when scheduling the Safety Camera vehicle visits.
